About Didn't
Developed by K. S.
The Idea
Instead of tracking what you spent, track the opposite: what you almost bought but didn't. Talked yourself out of ordering food delivery? Log it. Cancelled an Amazon purchase? Add that, too.
Built on the idea that seeing how much money almost left your account (but didn't) could be as motivating as watching your savings grow.
That's the app: no budget tracking, no charts, just a running total representing your self-restraint.
Animations inspired by Balatro, to get you addicted to not spending money.
Your Data
Adding Didn't to your Home Screen (Share → “Add to Home Screen”) will install it on your device and allow the app to save your entries locally.
If you ever delete the app from your Home Screen, your data will disappear too. This way, your data is private, with the tradeoff being no backups on my servers.
A version of this app with accounts, cloud sync, encrypted backups, and import/export features already exists (it's actually what I worked on first) but, for now, this is just what I've chosen to make available.
For Now
It's best to view the app in its current state as a sort of disposable notebook. Your data will hang around if you never throw it away (i.e. by installing and never deleting the app), I just can't guarantee it'll survive every future update (but I'll try my best).
